As you slather on moisturiser and hand cream, and bundle up in a multitude of cosy layers to protect yourself this winter, don’t forget to take care of your lips, which are exposed to the harshest of the elements.
With lots on the market; from tinted to scented, and with SPF and moisturising vitamins, once you find a favourite lip balm, make sure you’ve got one in every room of the house, and every satchel/pocket/manbag for easy application when needed.
Although a tin of Crème de la Mer The Lip Balm would be a luxurious route to the perfect non-chapped lips, I prefer a purse-friendly pout protector*, so my top tins contain Vaseline Lip Therapy – Cocoa, Original, Aloe or Rosy; I won’t pick favourites … as long as they match my outfit. Joke.
But, I hear you cry, cold hands and a fear of germs don’t make tins, pots or tubs of lip salve the best or easiest option. You have a point. What is the politest way to refuse a friend’s request to use your balm, when it would involve them sticking their finger in your pot (well, really, that sounds obscene)? And what are you meant to do with a half-full tin whose lid landed on the pavement when your frozen digits lost their grip?
Never fear, Vaseline are thinking the same – finding a solution to the dropped lids scenario, and also as a result the dirty fingers one – and there are now tubes of Lip Therapy, which have the same effective formula but in a dinky tube.
Perfect for soothing and smoothing your lips.
And perfect for not sharing.
