Themed Thursday – Lip lovin’ (part one)

The cold weather of a northern hemisphere winter is upon us, and that means dryness and chapping for lips. But help is at hand thanks to an array of affordable and nourishing lip products. Get stocked up soon!

For a super nourishing option, The Body Shop Lip Butters are incredibly hydrating. They do need re-applied quite often, but in a range of scents and coming in at a good price, they are well worth investing in.TheBoSho_SLB

EAr_EHCrLBA luxury option is cult classic Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour® Cream Nourishing Lip Balm SPF20. This is a juicy balm that is like chicken soup for upset lips (with apologies to the vegetarians for that metaphor. I am one, and prefer a soothing cream of mushroom when I’m feeling down!) This contains Lanolin, shea butter and eight vitamins that repair damage, making the chunky price tag worth it.

Another long-time favourite among lip balm junkies, using Carmex is akin to meeting up with an old friend, having a lovely time, and wondering why you don’t do it more often. There’s the addictive, almost medicinal scent courtesy of the menthol, which cools and tingles and actually plumps lips by increasing blood flow.carmex_product-cc-original-jarAnd it’s non-sticky, meaning there’s no risk of glued-on hair. If you want SPF15, try the Moisture Plus range.

Stand by for part two of this round-up next week.
